Hanan Pacha – The Upper World
(hah-NAHN PAH-chah)
Soul Type
You didn’t learn who you are. You arrived that way. This is where you remember it.
Before the conditioning. Before the roles you learned to play and the person you constructed to survive other people’s expectations. There was something already present. A particular orientation. A specific way of seeing, serving, moving through the world. Seven soul archetypes. One of them is not something you became – it is something you have always been.
And life stops feeling like a fight you don’t know how to win.

Understanding the Framework
What Is Soul Type, and How Does It Work?
What is a Soul Type?
A Soul Type is a fixed essential orientation that a soul carries across lifetimes, entirely distinct from personality, which develops through lived experience and environment. The INTI NAN framework identifies seven Soul Types: Server, Artisan, Warrior, Scholar, Sage, Priest, and King. Each type represents a distinct way of engaging with purpose, contribution, and relationship at the level of essence. Unlike the Enneagram, which maps how you operate through a core motivation, Soul Type maps who you are before any motivation arose. The Soul Type framework draws on the Michael Teachings tradition as adapted within the Q’ero three-world cosmological structure of INTI NAN.
How many Soul Types are there, and what distinguishes them?
There are seven Soul Types: Server, Artisan, Warrior, Scholar, Sage, Priest, and King. Each is defined by its essential contribution and mode of engagement with the world. Servers are oriented toward nurturing and support. Artisans toward creativity and making. Warriors toward action and protection. Scholars toward understanding and knowledge. Sages toward communication and expression. Priests toward vision and inspiration. Kings toward mastery and leadership. These are not roles a person plays but orientations they arrived with, present before conditioning and consistent across lifetimes.
What is Hanan Pacha, and why does it represent Soul Type?
Hanan Pacha is the Upper World in Andean Q’ero cosmology. The term translates from Quechua as ‘the world above’ and refers to the realm of spirit, higher perspective, and soul essence. In the INTI NAN three-world framework, Hanan Pacha is the domain of Soul Type, guarded by the Condor. Just as the Condor soars above the terrain to see what cannot be seen from the ground, Soul Type reveals the essential orientation that underlies and precedes everything shaped by experience. It is the view from above the patterns, not the patterns themselves.
How is Soul Type different from Enneagram type?
Enneagram type describes how a person operates: the core fear and desire that shape behaviour before conscious awareness. Soul Type describes who a person is at a level beneath and prior to that motivation. Two people can share the same Enneagram type but hold entirely different Soul Types, producing very different expressions of the same core drive. In INTI NAN, Enneagram maps Kay Pacha, the Middle World of lived patterns, while Soul Type maps Hanan Pacha, the Upper World of essential nature. One is the engine. The other is the soul that came to drive it.
What is Soul Age, and what are the five stages?
Soul Age refers to the stage of understanding a soul has accumulated across its lifetimes. The INTI NAN framework recognizes five Soul Ages: Infant, Baby, Young, Mature, and Old. Each stage perceives the world through a distinct lens and prioritizes different lessons. Infant souls are oriented toward survival. Baby souls toward structure and community. Young souls toward achievement and competition. Mature souls toward relationship and complexity. Old souls toward integration and wisdom. Soul Age does not indicate superiority but position within a long arc of experience that every soul moves through.
How does Soul Type connect to Enneagram and Healing Pathway in the INTI NAN system?
In the INTI NAN three-world framework, Soul Type is one of three coordinates. Soul Type, mapped through Hanan Pacha, reveals who you are at the level of essential nature. Enneagram type, mapped through Kay Pacha (the Middle World), reveals how you operate through your core motivation. Healing Pathway, mapped through Ukhu Pacha (the Lower World), reveals how your particular nature transforms. The intersection of all three coordinates produces one of 189 named pathways™. Each pathway name is specific to a unique combination and exists nowhere outside the INTI NAN system.
The Soul Type framework in INTI NAN is adapted from the Michael Teachings tradition, originally channelled by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro and further developed across several decades of study. The three-world cosmological structure (Hanan Pacha, Kay Pacha, Ukhu Pacha) is drawn from Andean Q’ero tradition and integrated within the INTI NAN system to map soul orientation, personality, and healing pathway as distinct but inseparable dimensions of a person’s full nature.
The Three Worlds
One World Seen. Two Remain.
Your Soul Type is who you arrived as. Your Enneagram is who you’ve become under the pressure of living. Your Healing Pathway is how you close the gap between the two. All three are already operating. This is where you see them clearly.
The Enneagram framework in its modern psychological form was developed by Oscar Ichazo and Claudio Naranjo in the 1960s and 1970s and has been extensively documented by the Enneagram Institute. The INTI NAN system adapts the Enneagram as one of three dimensions that together map a person’s full pathway.
The Soul Type framework is adapted from the Michael Teachings tradition, originally channelled by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro and developed across several decades of study. Within INTI NAN it represents the essence dimension of the pathway – what the person brought in rather than what they learned.
The three-world cosmological structure (Hanan Pacha, Kay Pacha, Ukhu Pacha) and the three healing modalities – Energy Healing (Kawsay Hampiy), Karmic Healing (Nawpa Hampiy), and Shamanic Healing (Paqo Hampiy) – are drawn from Andean Q’ero tradition, the indigenous Andean people widely regarded as the keepers of the original Inca spiritual tradition. The framework is documented across anthropological and linguistic scholarship as a pre-Hispanic cosmological system rooted in the Quechua language. For further reading see the Pacha (Inca mythology) article, which draws on colonial Quechua sources including the chronicles of Jesuit historian Jose de Acosta, and Constance Classen, Inca Cosmology and the Human Body (University of Utah Press, 1993).
Disclaimer: The INTI NAN pathway system is a framework for self-discovery and personal growth, not a religious teaching. Pathway descriptions and the Quechua and Andean concepts used throughout the platform are intended to support reflection and should be interpreted as invitations to explore, not definitive diagnoses, prescriptions, or representations of the full depth of living Andean tradition.
